What is Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is a lung infection that causes inflammation in your lung’s air sacs, thereby, making it difficult for you to breathe. It may clear up itself in 2-3 weeks but babies, older people or those who are already ill may require hospitalization.

What causes Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is generally caused by breathing germs in your lungs, namely virus, bacteria or fungi.

What are the symptoms of Pneumonia?

The most common symptoms of Pneumonia are:

If Pneumonia is caused by bacteria, then it is treated by antibiotics. In case, Pneumonia is caused by virus, then antibiotics won’t work. Your doctor will give you antiviral medications to get relief.
