What is Male Infertility?

Infertility means that a couple is not able to conceive a child even after having unprotected sex for more than a year. When this infertility problem is found in males, it is known as Male Infertility. Male Infertility basically relies on the quantity and quality of his sperm. If his sperm count is low or its quality is not good, then he is unable to make a female pregnant. This problem is widespread these days. 

What are the causes of Male Infertility?

There are various reasons for the occurrence of Male Infertility, namely:

  • Medical issues –Varicocele, infection, ejaculation issues, antibodies that attack sperm, tumors, hormonal imbalance, undescended testicles, defects of tubules that transport sperm, chromosome defect, celiac disease, certain medications and prior surgery.
  • Environmental causes – Industrial chemicals, heavy metal exposure, radiation or X-ray and overheating the testicles.
  • Health, lifestyle and other issues –Illict drug use, alcohol use, tobacco smoking, emotional stress and obesity. 
What are the symptoms of Male Infertility?

In majority of the cases, one doesn’t experience any kind of symptoms of Male Infertility. Intercourse, erections and ejaculation will happen normally. One needs to get medical tests done to know about this problem.
