Bleeding / Clotting Disorders

Bleeding / Clotting Disorders occur when the body loses its ability to make sufficient amount of proteins needed to help the blood clot in order to stop bleeding. These proteins known as coagulation factors are made in the liver with the help of Vitamin K. The Bleeding / Clotting Disorders result in heavy & prolonged bleeding after an injury. At times, the bleeding can start at its own also.

What are the causes of Bleeding / Clotting Disorders?

These disorders can range from mild to severe and may be inherited or present at birth. They can also result from Vitamin K deficiency, severe liver disease and long-term use of medicines/ antibiotics.

What are the symptoms of Bleeding / Clotting Disorders?

The symptoms that patient experiences depend on the specific bleeding disorders and their severity, that include:

  • Heavy bleeding
