What is Ligament Injury?

A ligament is a tough band of flexible tissues that comprises of individual fibres and connects the bones in your body together.

A ligament injury occurs when the ligaments are strained, which means, the particular joint is full-stretched beyond a normal range causing it to tear away from the bone. Your knees and ankle are the most vulnerable joints where ligament injury often happens because they are the weight-bearing joints that are under high stress with change of direction sports or full contact sports.
