What is thrombocythemia?

Thrombocythemia is a myeloproliferative disorder. It is characterized by the production of too many platelets in the bone marrow. Too many platelets make normal clotting of blood difficult.

What causes thrombocythemia?

There is no known cause for Thrombocythemia.
